Complement your smile with derma fillers
- Nov 28 2016
As any artist, interior designer, fashion guru, hair stylist, or other professional who values aesthetics can tell you, small efforts can make a huge difference in the way something looks. Take certain dental procedures — like teeth whitening, veneers, and implants — for example. Those simple changes can take years off of the way my patients appear. The same is true of non-invasive cosmetic procedures — and word is getting around. If you haven’t read about the wonders of derma fillers in blogs or magazines like Allure, you may have heard friends, coworkers, or just random New Yorkers on the street discussing them at some point. Read on to find out why many of my patients are turning to derma fillers to complement their smiles.
Fillers are ideal if you want a subtle but clear change in appearance. Because they replace lost volume in wrinkles, lines, and folds — which are clear age giveaways — they are associated with a more youthful appearance. But fillers don’t stop there. They are versatile and can also be used to define or enlarge your lips, or to shape your cheeks, chin, and nose through injections. Since there are so many directions we can go with fillers, it might be helpful for you to bring in a photo of yourself that you’re particularly fond of as a reference point. From that image, I’ll work with you to identify your facial goals and plan the best treatment options for your specific concerns.
Fillers aren’t just effective — they are also one of the safest non-invasive options! You won’t find any dangerous permanent fillers in my office. Instead, I inject only reputable brands including Juvederm, Juvederm Ultra Plus, and Restylane. I have ample experience with injectables, so you can trust that you’re in good hands. Your face will be numbed prior to the injection, so you don’t have to worry about pain during the procedure, and the injections are super fast and efficient, meaning you won’t have any lengthy stays or waste your valuable time. After, however, you might experience some side effects like redness, swelling, asymmetry, or bruising. Don’t worry! It’s only temporary, and the majority of my patients find that it’s a small price to pay for six to 14 months of reduced wrinkles and lines. The length of healing time varies from patient to patient, so if it’s your first time, you might want to consider taking off the rest of the afternoon or even the next day to recoup. Of course, we can and should discuss any of your concerns related to healing time — or other things — before the procedure takes place.
Fine lines and wrinkles are a normal part of life, but if they’re causing you unneeded anxiety or stress, derma fillers might just be the right thing for you. I would be happy to chat with you about your options, so call or stop in today for more information.
