Inlay/Onlay Porcelain or Composite Fillings:
Restore cavities or old mercury fillings with porcelain or white fillings.
The process of making an inlay/onlay involves removing the old and broken down filling and decay, preparing the tooth to the desired shape. Impressions of the tooth are then taken from which the laboratory can fabricate the inlay/onlay. Once fabricated, it is seated like a jigsaw puzzle (as seen in the photo on the right), in the tooth and bonded in place using special dental bonding cements. The shape, size, color and surface characteristics of a crown are closely matched to the surrounding teeth. Once seated, inlay/onlays provide a seamless and permanent restoration to a tooth.
